Buying For the House or For Yourself? Sounds Like a Win-Win
I have a friend who would rather shop for homeware than clothing. Which is fine. My mom and grandma are both like that too. Give them towels and bed linen to chose from and they’d be in heaven. Me-I’m a bit of a toss up. While I love shopping (mostly for my daughter or husband) I do have my weakness for kitchen gadgets. I love all the bits and bobs that collect dust in that one drawer that never gets open. And mugs! I love mugs!
My husband thinks I have a problem. The thing with mugs is that you need mugs for different moods. Or am I the only one? I have the short, round clay mug that is perfect for hot chocolate or coffee when it’s freezing outside. Or you have the mug for when you have work to do, or one for when you’re sick. Then I have to have mugs that my daughter can use, and have different ones for my mother-in-law as well as my friends who just aren’t into the whole chunky mug thing.
My friend and I went shopping (which is such a big surprise) and she had to return something. The store was detached from the mall and we had to go to this other section which happened to have other stores as well. Well wadda’ya know. My favorite kitchen store was there. We decided on a time (we had 15 minutes then we HAD to leave to go pick up our girls) and off we went on our separate ways. I had a bout 3 pounds on me and I happened to find this fizz saver for bottles of cola. It cost 2.50.
I figured it would be useful (because I have a serious Diet Cola addiction) so I went checked out and even made it back to the car before my friend did. She saw my bag rolled her eyes and laughed. Maybe I do like buying homeware more than I think.
